Mao Mao is a Research Assistant Professor at the School of Modern Languages and Cultures at the University of Hong Kong. She holds a PhD in History from the University of Oxford, where her dissertation focused on British-Yugoslav cultural relations during the Cold War. Her research interests include the history of Central and Eastern Europe in the twentieth century, with a particular emphasis on cultural, social and political history in Yugoslavia. Prior to her studies at Oxford, she obtained a double master’s degree in international affairs from the London School of Economics and Peking University. Mao has presented her work at various international conferences and seminars, contributing to discussions on the interplay between culture and politics in socialist contexts. She is committed to advancing scholarship in her field and fostering academic dialogue.
