Pablo has been a dedicated instructor of Spanish as a Foreign Language since 2008, including a significant nine-year tenure in Thailand. His diverse teaching background spans corporate settings, language academies, and international organizations such as the UN.

As a collaborator with the EnClaveEle publishing house, Pablo has been instrumental in creating pedagogical content, ranging from audiovisual materials to authoring the coursebook Genial - A1. He is also an accredited official DELE examiner.

 

His academic interests focus on Second Language Acquisition, lexical acquisition, and Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL). He is currently conducting PhD research on vocabulary acquisition through mobile applications —a methodology he actively integrates into his teaching.

Beyond theoretical research, Pablo is an active developer of digital resources. In recent years, he has designed educational apps, games, and chatbots specifically for Spanish learners, all of which are accessible via his personal portal: pablotorrado.site.

In his current role at the University of Hong Kong, Pablo leads initiatives that foster student autonomy. He manages student mentorship programs, Spanish board-game nights and organizes practical workshops on study tools such as Anki. His approach blends SLA research with gamified, tech-driven experiences that help his students improve their Spanish.
