Korean Studies Electives
This course is designed to foster further knowledge about Korean society in the contemporary era, the 21st century, for students who took KORE1021. This is a topical course that adopts a cultural studies approach to examine significant and complex issues in Korea. Students will explore various textual, visual, and audio forms and scholarly materials in the disciplines of anthropology, sociology, cultural studies, history, film studies, women’s studies, and literary studies. Topics may vary from year to year, including, but not limited to, popular culture, cinema and media, music, visual art, social networks, environmental culture, religious groups, food, youth, gender, and minorities.
